| YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL REGISTRATION Youth Baseball and Softball registration is right around the corner. Registration will be held Monday, February 1st - Saturday, February 20th, 2010. Fees for the 2010 season will include: BASEBALL SOFTBALL 4 year old instructional league $40.00 5& 6 year olds $40.00 5& 6 year olds $40.00 7 & 8 year olds $50.00 7 & 8 year olds $50.00 9– 17 year olds $65.00 9 & 15 year olds $65.00 Age control date for Baseball is May 1, 2010. Age control date for Softball is January 1, 2010. Registration will be taken at the Recreation Office, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:00am – 5:00pm, Thursdays, 9:00am – 8:00pm, and Saturdays, February 13th & February 20th from 9:00am – Noon. WANTED: Volunteer Youth Sport Coaches The Department is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Youth Sport Coaches for the upcoming Youth Baseball and Softball season. Coaching a Youth Baseball/Softball team is a great way to get back in the Game! All applicants must complete a Volunteer Application, a Waiver of Liability and consent to a background screening. These forms are available at the Recreation Office and on our website.
The Butts County Community theatre production of Alice In Wonderland, Jr. will be March 19, 2010 @ 7:00pm, March 20, 2010 @ 7:00 and March 21, 2010 @ 2:00pm at the Rufus Adams Auditorium. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Butts County Parks & Recreation Department office located at 576 Ernest Biles Drive, Jackson. Advance Ticket prices are: $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and Free to children 3 years old and younger. Tickets will be sold at the door. Party Packages available are the Jumpin Bean Package which include 1 hour of supervised play in the Rainbow Castle Bounce House and 45 minutes in the Party Room, the Jump N Slide Package that includes 1 hour of supervised play in the Rainbow Castle Bounce House and an 18ft Giant Slide and 45 minutes in the Party Room. For a cool party in the summer heat, check out our Wet N Wild Party Package. This package includes 1 hour of soaking fun on a 33ft inflatable slip n dip! We also offer Skills N Drill Party Packages. Your little athlete and his friends can enjoy an hour of Skills and Drills in Soccer, Football, Baseball, Basketball or Softball! All Party Packages include plates, cups napkins, a ¼ sheet cake decorated with your child favorite character or theme, ice cream, one hour of supervised play or instruction and 45 minutes for cake and ice cream all coordinated by a Party Pal assigned just for your party! Zumba Fitness is coming to the Community Center in March! The Zumba Program fuses hypnotic Latin Rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a one of a kind fitness program that will blow you away! You can burn 400 – 800 calories in just one hour! Classes will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. You can pay by the month for $30 or just drop in for $5 a class. Ladies 15 years and older, this class is for you. Mom’s this is a great way for you and your teen to spend some time together. Childcare will be available for kids 2-8 years old for an additional fee of $2 per class. Registration is now being accepted at the Recreation Office.
