BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL EVALUATIONS RESCHEDULED

Due to the weather we have decided to reschedule the Baseball and Softball player evaluations schedule for Monday, March 1st Tuesday, March 2nd and Thursday, March 4th. The reschedule date is Saturday, March 6th.

SPRING BRAK DAY CAMP

Looking for something FUN and EXCITING for your child to do during Spring Break? Sign him up for SPING BREAK DAY CAMP, April 5 th – 9th at the Recreation Department. Activities include outdoor games, arts & crafts, flower planting, hiking and MORE! Camp hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm and pre camp beginning at 7:00am and post camp ending at 6:00pm. Fee for the Spring Break Day Camp is $50 for the week and $1 per hour for pre and post camp. Registration will be accepted March 1 st - March 29 th at the Recreation Office. Pre-Registration is required by March 29 th .

THE 1ST ANNUAL LITTLE ONES OLYMPIC GAMES

Watch your “Little One” go for the Gold in the 1st Annual Little Ones Olympics. Events include the Javelin Throw, the 100 inch Crawl, the Shot-Put, Discuss Throw and more! The Olympic Event will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 beginning at 10:00am with the Torch Relay. To get your “Little Gold Medalist” ready for the BIG event, bring him to a Olympic Training Session on Saturday, March 13 th from 10:00am-noon or Saturday, March 20 th from 10:00am-noon. Training sessions will include “The Ball Toss”, “Digging for Gold” activity, Bean bag Toss, Bowling and Olympic themed crafts. There is no fee to participate in the Olympic Event or the training sessions. For your child to participate in the March 27th event, he/she must participate in one of the two training sessions on March 13th or March 20th . The 1st Annual Little Ones Olympic Games is for kids 6 – 48 months old. All events will be held at the Butts County Community Center.

Alice in Wonderland, Jr. Tickets

The Butts County Community theatre production of Alice In Wonderland, Jr. will be March 19, 2010 @ 7:00pm, March 20, 2010 @ 7:00 and March 21, 2010 @ 2:00pm at the Rufus Adams Auditorium.  Advance tickets can be purchased at the Butts County Parks & Recreation Department office located at 576 Ernest Biles Drive, Jackson.  Advance Ticket prices are: $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and Free to children 3 years old and younger.  Tickets will be sold at the door.  All tickets for ages 4 and up will be $5 each with no guarantee of a copy of the playbill.  For more information please call the Recreation Office at 770-775-8228.

Party Packages available are the Jumpin Bean Package which include 1 hour of supervised play in the Rainbow Castle Bounce House and 45 minutes in the Party Room, the Jump N Slide Package that includes 1 hour of supervised play in the Rainbow Castle Bounce House and an 18ft Giant Slide and 45 minutes in the Party Room. For a cool party in the summer heat, check out our Wet N Wild Party Package. This package includes 1 hour of soaking fun on a 33ft inflatable slip n dip! We also offer Skills N Drill Party Packages. Your little athlete and his friends can enjoy an hour of Skills and Drills in Soccer, Football, Baseball, Basketball or Softball! All Party Packages include plates, cups napkins, a ¼ sheet cake decorated with your child favorite character or theme, ice cream, one hour of supervised play or instruction and 45 minutes for cake and ice cream all coordinated by a Party Pal assigned just for your party! ZUMBA

Ditch the Workout, Join the Party. Zumba Fitness is coming to the Community Center in March! The Zumba Program fuses hypnotic Latin Rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a one of a kind fitness program that will blow you away! You can burn 400 – 800 calories in just one hour! Classes will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. You can pay by the month for $30 or just drop in for $5 a class. Ladies 15 years and older, this class is for you. Mom’s this is a great way for you and your teen to spend some time together. Childcare will be available for kids 2-8 years old for an additional fee of $2 per class.
